The team workspace where nothing leaks.
Channels, calls, files and roles in one place, end-to-end encrypted by default. Built, shipped and live on four platforms, by a team in Telangana, India.
Team chat holds a company's most sensitive data, and the vendor can read all of it.
Slack trained ML models on customer data by default
Opting out took an email from the workspace admin.
1.1 TB of Disney's Slack leaked
About 10,000 internal channels, readable because the server could read them.
~70,000 government IDs leaked via Discord
Collected for age checks, exposed through a support vendor.
Small teams feel it most: client files, credentials, deals and patient details sit in WhatsApp groups and free chat tiers, with no control over who else can read them.

India is rising, and it wants communication it can trust.
Law, politics and standards all moved in the last 18 months. Nowhere is that clearer than in India, where a fast-growing digital economy meets strict new data rules and a growing push away from foreign platforms.
India is becoming a product nation
The world's largest online population is moving from consuming software to building it. Indian teams, startups and institutions increasingly want tools made at home, priced for them and answerable to Indian law.
DPDP Rules are live
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Rules were notified in November 2025 and phase in through May 2027, with penalties up to ₹250 crore for weak security safeguards. Every Indian company now has to answer where its data sits and who can read it.
Foreign platforms keep clashing with local rules
Global messaging apps have spent years in court and before regulators over Indian data, privacy and compliance rules, because their business models depend on holding user data. A platform that cannot read messages in the first place sidesteps that conflict.
Homegrown alternatives are being chosen
Indian ministries, companies and millions of users have started switching to domestic communication tools. Demand is there; what's missing is one that is end-to-end encrypted by default and built as a full team workspace.
Institutions are leaving US suites
Schleswig-Holstein dropped Teams; the ICC left Microsoft 365; France is moving 200,000 civil servants to its own video tool.
MLS became the standard
IETF RFC 9420 (2023). The GSMA adopted it for RCS encryption and Apple committed to support it. Lupyd already runs on it.
Incumbents are tightening lock-in
Slack raised Business+ to $15 a seat (2025) and cut API access to message history for unlisted apps.

Team collaboration software, 2025. Projected $55B by 2034 (10.7% CAGR).
Secure messaging software, 2025. Growing faster: 15.7% CAGR to $9.2B by 2032.

At Pro's $99 a team a month, $33M ARR is about 28,000 paying teams across the world.

Workspaces aren't private. Private apps aren't workspaces.

Element ($30M Series B) and Wire (~$60M raised) prove buyers pay for this. Both work for small teams too, but their growth comes from governments and large public-sector deals. Lupyd is built for the teams in between: a flat price for up to 100 seats, regional INR pricing, and a product shaped around India's DPDP Rules.
